From its inception, merely 5 years ago,  Gallery ILÉ has been dedicated to championing the careers of artists whose practices are contributing to redefine contemporary African art. Ever since, The Gallery has been quietly earning a reputation for showcasing iconic works by both trailblazing and critically acclaimed artists, to worldwide audiences.

With a curatorial focus investigating the mediums of painting, sculpture and photography, Gallery ILÉ offers an ambitious program of exhibitions, showcasing, often for the first time in The Netherlands, awe inspiring works by mavericks such as Nathanaël Vodouhè, Wabi Dossou, and world renowned modern masters the likes of Dominique Zinkpè and Gérard Quenum.

In 2025, The Gallery reached a significant milestone in its journey, by expanding its horizons to embrace a critical and situated perspective that transcends geographical origins, enriching the ongoing dialogue around Afro-diasporic worlds.

As of May 2026, The Gallery is delighted to have welcomed the acclaimed Italian born and Paris based  photographer and PhD researcher, Nicola Lo Calzo as well as the award-winning Kenyan visual artist, Eddy Ochieng to our expanding roster.

Moving forward, Gallery ILÉ will set forth to promote other fast emerging and world renowned artists from countries including Ghana, Nigeria, Ethiopia, South Africa, Morocco, Suriname and the US.

The Future Is Now.
