Gallery ILÉ was founded in April 2021 by Joyce Bidouzo.

A former Senior Creative Consultant with a career spanning over two decades, Joyce has orchestrated business development, marketing & PR strategies for a large portfolio of well reputed high fashion, jewelry and luxury lifestyle brands, predominantly covering designated market areas such as APAC, EMEA and the US.

Fulled by a deep and voracious passion for art, the establishment of Gallery ILÉ is now paving the way to the most incredible journey. 

Initially conceived as an online gallery, with former headquarters based in Groningen, North Holland, in January 2022, Gallery ILÉ unveiled its first physical entity in Amsterdam, on the mythical Prinsengracht before ultimately moving, in September 2023, to Hazenstraat 28, in the Jordaan's 9 Streets area. 

Gallery ILÉ has made an undeniable contribution to this particular location and was embraced wince day 1 by wide audience of local art lovers and dedicated international art collectors. Securing this location marked a major turning point in The Gallery’’s young history and with it, the promise of a bright future.

Unfortunately, on December 31st 2023,  Joyce suffered a near fatal injury, which left him hospitalized for a period of 2/half months. As of September 2024, Joyce has already made an impressive recovery. Yet, after careful consideration and despite having been able to keep the gallery operational while undergoing a series of 8 complex surgeries and a grueling physiotherapy program, while being plagued with an increasingly unpleasant rapport with our landlord, we’ve decided not to renew our lease on this particular location. 

We are already hard at work securing a new state-of-the-art location but for the foreseeable months ahead, Gallery ILÉ will go back to its initial online format.
