A solo exhibition unveiling, for the very first time in The Netherlands,
a new body works, by internationally acclaimed visual artist,
GÉRARD QUENUM.
Gérard Quenum (53), a modest and quiet gentleman,
whose practice is based in Porto-Novo, Benin, West Africa,
is considered one of the founding fathers of West African abstract figuration.
A movement of which he has been at the forefront for more than 20 years.
Today, Quenum’s work continues to haul front stage at major exhibitions in Paris, London and New York. His oeuvre has been permanently incorporated into the preeminent collections of leading museums and art institutions the likes of British Museum and Tate Modern in the UK, or Stanford University in the US.
